Alternative Crete is an online tourism agency (e-services) focused on organizing outdoor recreational tourism activities, multi-day and single-day hiking excursions, as well as organization and co-organization of corporate and entertainment events.
Your contract is with Alternative Crete, a company registered under the name Georgios Prinarakis Georgios, obligated to the General Commercial Register (GEMI) with registration number ELGEMI.123089250000 and with Tax Identification Number (VAT): 109126140, based at Skopeftiriou Kesarianis street, Number 20, Post Code 74133, Rethymno – Crete – Greece.
Alternative Crete is a licensed travel agency by the Greek National Tourism Organization (G.N.T.O.) with license number 1041Ε70000117200.
The following booking conditions together with the trip details of the specific tour you have booked or you intend to book and our Privacy Policy form the basis of your contract with Alternative Greece.
By confirming your reservation or your collaboration with Alternative Crete, you acknowledge that:
1) you have read and understood the terms and conditions as described below.
2) Their explicit acceptance is declared and you agree to commit from these Terms.
3) These booking conditions and any agreement to which they apply are governed by the Greek law. We both agree that any dispute, claim or other matter arising out of or in connection with your contract or booking will be resolved by the Greek Courts.
Reservations – Payments
At Alternative Crete we only make reservations upon request and communication via email.
The reservation is considered valid only when 30% of the total cost of the activity / excursion has been paid in advance and a confirmation email has been sent to you from our official email address which is Info@alternativecrete.com
Reservation methods – requests
· Through the ”Request reservation” button located at the end of the description of each activity.
· Through the contact form available in the contact field.
· Through the official email of Alternative Crete mentioned above.
If 30% of the total cost of the activity / Excursion has not been paid in advance as stated above and final confirmation has not been made by us via our official email as stated above, the reservation is not considered valid.
In the case of group bookings, the person making the reservation must be 18 years of age or older and have the legal capacity and authority to make the reservation and accept these booking terms on behalf of all members of their party.
By making a reservation, therefore, the first named person and representative of the group, agrees on behalf of all persons named in the reservation that:
1) The customer who confirmed the booking is considered the designated contact person for all other customers named on that booking.
2) The customer who has confirmed the reservation for more than one customer and represents them, will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions on behalf of all customers named in the reservation.
All prices on our website are in euros, which is the local currency of Greece, and payments / advances to Alternative Crete are made either via bank deposit or via the PayPal application.
Also, all payments made to our bank account are made in euros and when you make a payment via bank transfer you are responsible for covering any bank charges.
Prices are per person (unless otherwise agreed) and do not include airfare or travel insurance, unless otherwise stated.
For one-day activities/reservations, the remaining amount is paid either the day before the activity/excursion or on the day the activity takes place.
For multi-day trips and group activities, the remaining amount is due up to 40 days before the start date of the excursion.
If you do not pay your balance up to 40 days before the tour start date, we reserve the right to consider your reservation as cancelled and cancellation fees will apply.
Cancellation policy
If you need to cancel your reservation, cancellation fees will be determined according to the date we received your written notification via email (verification of the receipt of the email is needed) and the following applies.
Daily activity / excursion cancellation by the customer
For cancellations more than 15 days before the date of the activity / excursion, we refund any amount paid and no cancellation fees apply. However, in case there are any organizational costs (management costs, transportation fees, etc.) 50% of the deposit is withheld to cover these costs, if our partners have a different cancellation policy.
For cancellations up to 15 days before the date of the activity/excursion, we do not refund any amount paid.
Multi-day excursions cancellation by the customer
If you cancel more than 90 days before departure and 10 days after booking and depositing the deposit, no cancellation fees apply, but the amount of €20 per person is retained.to cover management costs.
Cancellation up to 45 days before the start date of the excursion, we will refund the amount paid, minus 50% of the deposit to cover any management and cancellation costs of hotels or other services.
For cancellations up to 45 days before the tour date, we do not refund any amount paid.
Cancellation by us
If for any reason our office cannot complete the organization of your trip in a way that ensures your safety and the complete enjoyment of your experience, then we will refund your deposit or the entire amount in full.
However, Alternative Crete reserves the right to modify or cancel a trip or one-day activity before its start, for safety reasons (unsuitable weather conditions, natural disasters, strikes, etc.) The decision to cancel rests with Alternative Crete and the only guiding principle in any of our decisions is the safety of the participants in our activities.
In this case, we will either suggest alternatives or transfer the trip/activity to another place, time or refund your money in full as described below.
We are not obligated to offer any other compensation.
Daily activity / excursion cancellation by us
Please note that weather conditions can only be predicted 1 to 2 days before the date of the excursion/activity, and can also deteriorate and change even during the same day.
If we have to cancel a tour due to unsuitable weather (heat waves, strong winds, storms, etc.), and you do not agree to transfer your reservation to another place or time, then we will refund any amount paid except for any administration or other service fees.
Multi-day excursions cancellation by us
For multi-day trips, the above applies. If for any reason our office cannot complete the organization of your trip in a way that ensures your safety and the complete enjoyment of your experience, then we will refund your deposit or the entire amount in full.
Although they can exist during multi-dayship cancellations, itineraries or any unfortunate scheduling by our partners, the original schedule is always followed as closely as possible.
If the weather is not suitable during any multi-day excursion, as the office and organizer of the excursion, we reserve the right to make changes to the program to better suit the needs and capabilities of the group, depending on the current weather conditions.
Ultimately, Alternative Crete reserves the right to modify the program of any trip for various reasons beyond its control, if such action becomes necessary to ensure the safety of the group.
The final choice of trip is left to our office and any additional costs will be charged to the participant.
Insurance
Before participating in a program, excursion or activity of our office, and before your trip to Greece and Crete, it is recommended that each participant individually and individually has taken out travel insurance / health insurance for you and your dependents, in case of loss of property or illness, injury or death.
Our office, Alternative Crete, is covered by professional third party liability insurance from Lloyd’s Insurance Company SA
As a result of your reservation and your agreement to these terms and conditions, On the first day of the excursion/activity, we always ask each participant individually to sign a declaration. participant agreement, waiver and recognition Risk in order to participate in the excursion / activity.
In the case of a minor child (under 18 years of age), the above statement is signed by his/her parent or legal guardian.
Photos and videos
During activities, excursions and multi-day programs, participants may be photographed and videotaped for our agency’s promotional and advertising needs (brochures, website, social media, advertisements, etc.).
Under no circumstances will the faces of minor children be displayed, even if there is consent from the parent or legal guardian.
